Our Rooms
Each of our guest rooms is unique, filled with character and timeless details. You won’t find flat-screen TVs or electronic keycards—but you will find thoughtful touches, cozy bedding, and a chance to truly unwind.
Room Types
Twin Rooms – One twin bed, perfect for solo travelers
Single Rooms – One full or queen bed, comfortable for single occupants or couples
Double Rooms – Two full beds, ideal for friends or small families
Please note: Guest rooms share a hallway bathroom, keeping with the inn’s traditional layout. These are well-maintained, clean, and refreshed regularly.
This is a family-run inn. The owner and their family live on the property in a private section of the building while guests enjoy designated guest-only areas. Please be respectful of quiet hours (10:00 p.m.-6:00 a.m.).

Hunter’s Haven
Double Room
A quiet rest for those who roam. Named for the many sportsmen who have long been drawn to these mountains, this room is perfect after a day on the land or a wander through the wide-open spaces of Central Montana.

Grant’s Rest
Twin Room
John Grant, the Inn’s original owner, helped shape this historic building’s legacy. This room offers a peaceful pause—just like the one he envisioned over a century ago.

Maginnis’ Reprieve
Double Room
Martin Maginnis helped secure the town’s post office and gave Martinsdale its name. This room honors his legacy with a warm place to rest and reflect—like a quiet reprieve from the dusty road.

Plenty Coups’ Camp
Single Room
Chief Plenty Coups, a respected Crow leader, was known for his wisdom and peaceful spirit. This room is a nod to his lasting legacy in Montana’s story—a humble, grounding place to pause and listen.

Marchi’s base camp
Single Room
Longtime innkeepers Cheryl and Peter Marchi made this place a home. This room pays tribute to their hospitality, complete with cozy comforts and perhaps a whisper of fresh-baked pie in the air.

Gaugler’s Getaway
Double Room
Before Martinsdale, there was Gauglersville—named for Franklin Gaugler, who first built a store and hotel here in 1876. This room reflects that early spirit of welcome and rest in the wilds of Montana.

Coates’ Retreat
Single Room
Poet Grace Stone Coates once called Martinsdale home. This room is for the dreamers and readers, a gentle retreat for quiet reflection and inspiration.

Bair’s Bunkhouse
Twin Room
Charles M. Bair ran one of the largest sheep ranches in the West and left behind a legacy of generosity and success. This room gives a nod to his ranching roots—with a touch of rough-and-ready charm.

Kessler’s Crossing
Twin Room
The Inn once housed a branch of Helena’s Kessler Brewing Company. This room tips a glass to those lively early days—where rail lines, beer barrels, and big Montana skies crossed paths.

Crazy Peak Camp
Double Room
Named for the iconic peak watching over Martinsdale, this room captures the wild spirit and rugged beauty of the Crazy Mountains. It’s a perfect camp for travelers craving mountain air and a step back in time.
Your Stay at the Inn
Guest rooms are located on the second floor, accessible only by stairs—just like in the early days. Each room is simple and thoughtfully furnished, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. While private, all rooms share access to a full bath and a cozy common space.
Bathrooms
The shared full bath upstairs includes a roomy clawfoot tub for a relaxing soak. There is also a Half Bath located on the first floor.
Common Room
A warm welcome area to relax, read, or play a board game.
Breakfast room
Featuring a serve-yourself breakfast station with a mini fridge, microwave, toaster, single-serve Keurig coffee maker, electric tea kettle, and a selection of tea and coffee.
Bring Your Pet
We get it—some road trips are better with your best four-legged friend. Well-behaved pets are welcome with a $10 fee per stay.
